Ooh, I like this meme, taken from [livejournal.com profile] oddsbobs! They only did fic, but I have a few prosaic things lying around, too.

When you see this, post an excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around.

I dunno if anyone has heard of Magnetic Poetry Sets, but if you haven't, I think I posted about them before. Just to recap, they are really awesome magnets with one word each on them. About two hundred come in each set, as well as a book for ideas on how to use them. My friend has a mini-set on his cabinet in his room, and it's cool at parties to see what people make with them. Usually they are vague sexual references, but sometimes some nice stuff comes out of it. I have three now, and all the magnets are spread out on my desk since my brother would feed them to the fish if I put the magnets on the fridge. The kits are really cool, because I have little poetic... orgasms, if you will, to see so many words spread out in front of me. I scan the area and a few jump out at me, so I write a poem with them. I wrote about a zillion and one on the 31st March - 1st April, and so here they are!

A pretty cut so as not to break your friends page )

Title: Remonstrances
Rating: PG (bittersweetness?)
Warnings: I had an idea, a good idea, but then I sort of couldn't write it.

Well, here it is; be kind.

I remember that day better than anything else in my entire life. )
